Meter Bar Thingy

I've decided to keep track of where I am on my current WIP, A Reluctant Vicar. It is already started so I can't use it for Nano, but my gaol is to get it finished by the end of November. I already have 20,471 words out of my 70,000 goal, so that is about the 50,000 I need. If anyone can tell me how to get that meter/counter for my current WIP that I see in so many margins on blogs, I would be very grateful. Otherwise, I will just post my word count occassionally. Maybe this will keep me focused and working on it.

Good luck to everyone trying to reach a goal.

  1. I use one from this site. http://www.languageisavirus.com/nanowrimo/word-meter.html
    It's easy to use. :)
I know I've said this before, but I love the covers of your books!

  2. I don't use a meter, so I can't help you there, but I think you can do NaNo even though you've already started your book. I'm not sure on this, but all you have to do is write 50,000 words of any book. If someone knows more, please let me know, but I've seen other blogs talking about how they already had 10,000 words so their goal was to hit 60,000.

  3. Have no idea, I write 400 page articles and then combine them into books. Good luck.

  6. The word count meters always make me crazy. They are so hard to update and sometimes dont work. Thats what I love about NaNoWriMo, their word counter is easy and fast----takes no time. Wish I could find one like that for my blog.
I think using NaNo for the month of October is the best bet. Let us know what works best for you.
I am off to check out that link now. Thanks.

  13. Thank you for visiting my blog, Something She Wrote, yesterday. It's always nice to see new faces. :)

I tried a meter bar once, too, and found my momentum is better if accountability is left to just me, not those who see the bar. Good luck with it!
